1. Select the best staff members according to the organization goals

As a manager, you are only as good as the people on your team. So, give yourself a better chance to succeed in your everyday practices by picking the best people from the very start. 

And if someone is not adding value to the project, just say goodbye asap.

Try to select the best team so you can totally trust in every person that you have in your work. 

Trust is a whole issue when managing staff. And it's normal that certain individuals want to control everything and everybody. 

And this is a particularly common trait among business people and top leaders.

However, that kind of behavior is not at all constructive to grow as a company nowadays. 

Especially if yours is a disruptive model that doesn't have traditional bosses. Model that has been proving to be more successful than traditional business practices.

Human beings do things because they want to. Sometimes we want to because the consequences of not doing something are unpleasant for us. However, most of the time, we want to do things because of what we can get out of it.

So, in order to motivate your people better, figure out what they truly want and how you can give that to them for doing what you want them to do. 

True leadership skills require a self-driven leader who is able of waking up their people and simply this person wants to do things because they just like the project.

Even though it's not easy to make everybody like all the tasks they have to fulfill, every day, if you can transmit a sense of purpose and value, chances are people follow you naturally.

So, every process needs to flow in the most efficient yet flexible way. This is a delicate balance to reach because sometimes people fear that if they give too much freedom to their people, they will rebel or not do their jobs properly.

But, if you change your approach little by little, by focusing on motivation and bigger picture instead of pushing people to do things they don't understand why they're doing so,

Sometimes people get so in their minds that they lose the big picture or objectivity to solve problems. Coaching helps people to understand themselves better. And changes in behavior can be seen for the better too.

7. Improve yourself all the time (but have realistic expectations about progress too)  

Don't focus so hard on your people that you forget about yourself. Identify the areas in which you are weak and improve them. The fact that you are reading this article shows you understand the concept.

It's frequent that business people care so much about innovation that they get lost about which pattern to follow.
